Njoy's Sulphur Mix Plus I Finally Got My Braids installed!

 I'd planned on getting my hair braided a few days ago but it just didn't seem to be happening as the salon was very busy and getting any spare time to even wash and deep condition was becoming an effort. As I've planned a trip for this week and have absolutely no desire to style my hair daily when I'm away; getting my hair braided had to be done one way or the other.

After dragging myself home just before 10 pm on Saturday, all I wanted to do was sleep but I had a head full of oil as I'd pre - poo'd the night before and there was no way I was going to sleep with an oily head 2 nights in a row.

Currently I'm trying out Njoy's Long and Healthy Hair Growth Oil as my pre poo oil but use it strictly for my scalp as it contains sulphur which is known to dry out hair. On my hair I apply my regular Vatika Coconut Oil.

Njoy is popular for growing her hair from Shoulder Length (SL) to Waist Length (WL) in 12 months using a mix of carrier oils, essential oils and a bit of sublimed sulphur. Her recipe was pretty simple (4oz Jojoba Oil, 2oz Olive Oil, 2 oz Jamaican Black Castor Oil, 5 drops each of Rosemary and Peppermint Oil and a heaping teaspoon of sublimed sulphur) but I guess due to its popularity and her success story, she's found it more viable to mix it and sell it. So I washed, ended up sleeping with deep conditioner in my hair, rinsed this morning and rocked a wash n go to church (first time I've ever done that) got back home, combed out my hair using my spritz mix and my Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in Detangler and had it braided! Yay!!!!! It took about 3 hours to do with 2 of my stylists and I'm loving it! I can't remember the last time I had braids in and I have to say I've missed them!!!! Braids have always been my go to style but in the last 2 or so years, I haven't really braided my hair so this was like a re acquainting session for me  lol. I hope to have it for at least 4 - 6 weeks.

So, after the very very busy holiday season we've had, I've decided that the salon will close this week starting the 6th so everyone can rest and come back refreshed, energized and bursting with new creative ideas. We'll be back Monday the 13th of January, sharp and ready to serve our lovely customers even better in 2014.

I plan to travel for a couple of days, spend the first 2 sleeping and not worrying about PHCN, generators, fuel, and all the wonderful things that I have to deal with on a daily basis :) Whoop Whoop!!!!! Looking forward to serving you better this year.
