Honestly, when I believe I've seen some far out things, I stumble upon even more faaaar ouuut things and can't help but shake my head in wonder while trying to keep a straight face.
So, I'm currently vacationing in Dubai and decided to brave the Carrefour Department Store at the Deira City Centre which on a good day requires agility, calm nerves and ears that are immune to loud noises. On a bad day? Just brace yourself, really. I look over to the hair product section and of course I cannot help but go over to see what goodies I might indulge myself in :)
Let me say here that anyone who's gone shopping with me knows how I like to take my time looking at each item before making up my mind - be it clothes, shoes or toiletries. This is the reason I prefer shopping alone as I don't have anyone rolling their eyes at me or glancing pointedly at their watch or sighing in martyred frustration! If I want to shop for 8 straight hours (and I regularly do) then I'll do it at my own pleasure lolll!
So, I'm browsing each aisle leisurely, reading through ingredients, seeing old products from my product junkism days and trying to enjoy the experience but of course this is marred by people who can't say 2 simple words 'Excuse Me'; and instead, try to slink or squeeze their way past you - most annoying!
Anyway, in the process of browsing, my eye catches something and I literally do a double take, bend down and scoop this large jar of conditioner from the bottom shelf. Written underneath the picture of a snake, are the words 'Snake Oil Hair Cream'.
Lol at 'Natural Extracts' - there's nothing natural in any of those ingredients listed! (Well, maybe the papaya)
I'm beside myself at this point and of course reach for my phone to take a picture!
While marvelling at what must surely be a lone crazy product, my eye catches even more products with pictures of snakes and in open mouthed wonder, I reach across, examining each product and their ingredients.
A Cobra even!
Now for the life of me, I could not see 'snake oil' as an ingredient on any of the products - I've even tried googling each ingredient listed to see if what was provided for was the scientific name - still nada!
I really wonder what the deal is though - have they neglected to include snake oil in the ingredient list? Even though one of the product clearly states ' Snake oil rich in vitamins....'. I'm at a loss lol!
I was laughing with amused confusion while reading this.....
