My Lovely Brides!

I absolutely love being a part of the 'Big Day' for ladies. It is such a special day - when you make one of the biggest decisions of your life and begin a new phase in the attainment of your destiny. It's truly honoring when I get chosen to be a part of that day and I don't take it lightly.

I've had a number of gorgeous brides over the last couple of months actually - unfortunately for me, quite a number were those where you have the traditional engagement and wedding  on the same day and you know what that usually means: manic rush at the end. That usually means I barely have enough time to finish the hair let alone take my time in getting some decent pictures.

Having said that, I present to you pictures of my gorgeous brides from May, June and July!

First up is the lovely, sweet, Fola - her style was very simple with minimal fuss particularly as she had a statement headpiece so we didn't want too  many things going on. As with a lot of weddings these days, traditional and church were on the same day (so you know exactly what that means lol)

It actually wasn't so bad as I was able to do her hair right after she changed from her traditional attire and seeing as it was quite straight forward and I'd already prepped her hair earlier on in the day; it didn't take time at all. My plan was to style her Chief Brides Maid's hair and then get a proper picture once make up was done and she was dressed. Suffice it to say, makeup was interrupted as the bride's father stormed the room because apparently the service had started!

I managed to get this while she was dashing out of the room.

This was from the trial so at least you have an idea of what the back looked like

Chief Bridesmaid - Look 1

Both bride and Chief Bridesmaid had purchased Heat Free clip ins for their looks.

Next up is my beautiful, long limbed Porchia! :) She wanted simple also with a bit of detailing at the side and so this is what we came up with. I used some Mojito twist hair to add a bit of volume for the detailing.

I also got to style her bridesmaids (2 of whom are also natural) and we decided to go for a nice elegant top bun. Janet Nor Marley hair works and blends really well for buns such as these.

Next up is Tola, my quietest bride till date. Most times even during the trial, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right or wrong as she was extremely quiet and would just turn this way and that, viewing the look from different angles. Thankfully, this smile on the big day, says it all!

Now I have one more which happened in Ota and was another mad dash for time - the funny thing is recently the bride called me a few weeks ago - apparently there were practically no clear, usable pictures from that day from her photographer because of the rush from traditional to church wedding and she was going to have a 're enactment' of the day just so she could get something to at least frame.

That was definitely a first for me but I happily obliged - I styled her hair at home and she went off to get make up done and then get the photo shoot on!

I shall be bringing you pictures of that once I get official photos.

  3. Very very nice! And I plan on having a do-over for photos too - since my wedding mua showed up an hour to the ceremony, I didn't get to have proper portraits done.

    1. Thank you sweets!! Really? I'd never heard of the wedding do over oh till that moment. She sent the pictures a few days ago and I have to say they were beautiful! And it does make sense really because there's no pressure of wedding day to contend with!
